Backup Policy

1. Backup Responsibility

Users are solely and entirely responsible for maintaining regular backups of their data. NGP Hosts provides backup slots as a convenience only, not as a guarantee of data protection.

2. What We Provide

• Storage space for backup files (increases with tier)
• Backup creation tools and access
• Basic backup management features
• SFTP access for file downloads

We do NOT provide:

• Automatic backups (you must create them manually)
• Guaranteed backup retention
• Backup integrity verification
• Recovery guarantees
• Compensation for lost backups

3. Backup Best Practices

• Create backups weekly or after major changes
• Download backups to your computer - don't rely on our servers
• Store multiple copies in different locations
• Use cloud storage for additional redundancy (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.)
• Test restore procedures regularly to ensure backups work
• Document your backup process for future reference

4. Backup Loss Scenarios

Backups may be lost due to:

• Hardware failure or storage device failure
• Software bugs or data corruption
• Security breaches or unauthorized deletion
• Account suspension or termination
• Service discontinuation
• Natural disasters or infrastructure failure
• Accidental deletion by user or administrator

NGP Hosts is not liable for backup loss in any of these scenarios.

5. Automatic Backup Policies

While we may implement automatic backups in the future:

• No guarantee of success or completeness
• No guarantee of retention or availability
• Automatic backups do not replace user-maintained backups
• Service discontinuation may delete all backups

6. Backup Storage Limits

• Tier-specific backup slot limits apply
• Each backup takes storage space
• Slot limits reset with tier downgrades
• Exceeding limits may result in backup deletion

7. Data Recovery

NGP Hosts does NOT provide data recovery services.

• Once data is deleted, it cannot be recovered
• No professional recovery services are available
• Lost backups cannot be recreated
• No compensation is available for lost data

8. Account Termination

Upon account termination:

• All server files are permanently deleted
• All backups are deleted
• Data recovery is impossible
• No grace period for backup recovery

9. Inactive Account Backups

Accounts inactive for 30+ days:

• May be suspended without notice
• Backups may be deleted to free storage
• Data cannot be recovered

10. Migration Backups

If migrating to another provider:

• Download all backups before account deletion
• Verify downloads before deleting your account
• NGP Hosts backups are deleted after 30 days
• No recovery available after deletion

11. Compliance and Legal Holds

NGP Hosts may delete backups to comply with:

• Law enforcement requests
• Copyright infringement claims
• Abuse and policy violations
• Security incidents or compromises

12. Your Obligations

By using NGP Hosts, you agree to:

• Maintain your own backups regularly
• Store backups securely and separately
• Accept all responsibility for data loss
• Not rely on NGP Hosts for data protection
• Indemnify NGP Hosts from backup-related claims

13. Modifications

NGP Hosts may modify this policy at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance of changes.
